Paint Me a Picture

Vivacidade Espaço Criativo hosted an exposition of works by award-winning painter and poet Filomena Fonseca in Porto last month. We’d been invited to the opening by the artist but were unable to attend, so paid a visit to the gallery about a week ago.

There we met “gestora” (manager) Adelaide Pereira, who warmly greeted us and permitted a private viewing of Ms. Fonseca’s work, which impressed us with its diversity and ability to set our imaginations soaring.

The Museo Municipal de Espinho is currently displaying another collection of Ms. Fonseca until February 2013.

P.S. How did we meet the prolific Ms. Fonseca? On the streets of Famalicão, she was attracted to that renowned artist magnet, Carson Pimental.
